Change screen resolution:

Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, Display, and then clicking Settings.

Under Resolution, move the slider to 1024 by 768 pixels. Under Color quality select Highest (32 bit), and then click Apply.
Change color scheme
-
Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, Display, and then clicking Appearance.

In the Windows and buttons list, select Windows XP Style.

In the Color scheme list, select Default (blue).

In the Font size list, select Normal, and then click OK and Apply.
Disable smooth edges of screen fonts
-
Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, Display, and then clicking Appearance.

Click Effects.

In the Effects dialog box, uncheck Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts, and then click OK and Apply
